So I was just browsing through your journal and I didn't mean to read any more because I should be like, seriously learning, but when I saw the prompt, I absolutely had to, and I'm glad I did.

I love the hints of Sam we got in the first, five episodes, ever since that it just kind of, flattened, and it's really hard to find great fanfictions with him (and I'm kind of avoiding the Kurt/Sam fandom because I hate spoilers while they kind of feed on them), so uh, the fact that this was a great read makes so happy. I mean, Sam has this dorky personality, but is kind of more acceptive then Finn was, and I love how you showed both of these without making Sam too... I don't even know, I've just read some stories where is like, wise, and smart. Here, he was mature but still kind of idiotic, and really, an adorable mix. I love how you descriptive paragraphs fit character who has the main POV, like, "They usually meet at Artie’s house (first time notwithstanding), since he has the best and the most equipment for all things related to killing little pixelated dudes". And I love that you brought in Sam's body issues, that was a very interesting promise in the series and I hope we get to see more. Your Kurt was fabulous, even more so than in the other two stories I've read so far from you, the way he talks, it was just mindblowingly perfect "I’m insulted that you think either Rachel or I would resort to so prosaic and easily-traced a murder method,”, and the way you describe the small little flirting or the things Sam likes about Kurt and.

Ahh. I love the premise of this pairing, the hints and things in Duets are just too adorable to let go, even though she show was trying too hard with the Quam thing, so, yeah.
I really loved how you wrote about Quinn, her voice and manners and all, and your Finn is as fabulously awkward as always and I'm like seriously disconnecting my internet now to stop reading your stories. :D

Well, and I am glad you did! I mean, I sympathize with the studying situation, but for real. Mental health time.

So! I'm totally there, I avoid spoilers too. I'd do myself better by staying off Tumblr, but I can't manage it, so I scroll quickly and cross my fingers mostly. And I'm v. pleased you like Sam here - honestly, when I was working on him, I mostly only had the first four episodes to work with - the body image stuff from the fifth episode was a last-minute addition after I saw that episode. Personally, I don't mind the changes they've made with him - he's more focused on popularity, which is a theme with the show and I'm all for themes even if this one isn't my fave. He echoes Finn nicely the way Finn used to echo Schuester, and Sam and Quinn seem to want the same thing out of their relationship - a popularity alliance thingy - so, you know, cool. Except that it does sort of specifically contradict his "Duets" characterization now, which bothers me; I have a hard time picturing now-Sam being cool with singing with Kurt, because it would lower his ~cred. But whatever, show, character continuity has never been its strong point.

Also, Sam for me will always be the boy who seriously uses the phrase, "You're confusing my head." SO ADORBS, but wise, not so much.

ANYWAY thank you so so much for all of this about liking the characterization and Kurt's dialogue and the POV stuff, and - yeah, it is so hard for me to write teenage boys with crushes - the flirting and what Sam likes and everything, god, I am seriously over the moon that you like it because it's fun but easy it is not. And Quinn, I've only written once before, so I'm really glad you liked this.

In general, omg, you so good to me.
