I dunno, I guess when I say that I am allergic to peanuts and the other party understands me perfectly well, as in the case where I go to this shop every day for lunch almost, and order the same thing consistently, I expect understanding. It really isn't so hard to *not* put peanuts on the food, and it even saves them money because they charge me ( Read more... )

Yeah, most people with peanut allergies need to consume the thing itself to have an allergic reaction... The thing is, I was already eating it by the time I realized (by seeing one on my fork). I was a little panicky that I might have eaten one and it was time delayed, but about 5 minutes after I threw the food out, my throat started getting scratchy, etc. The pharmacist gave me some anti-allergic reaction medicine so I didn't need to call an ambulance, but that was just from eating food that was touching the nuts, not the nuts itself. If I had actually swallowed any it would have been a different story. Just think of people who are allergic to say wool fibers, and it gives them a rash. Getting a severe rash on the inside of my throat is a food allergy. If it doesn't go in, it can't hurt me.

Yeah, when she hit me, I had to go out and assess the damage. There was no *visible* damage to my car, and she had like a fingernail dent / discolouration on her front, however if it is under 1000$ worth of damage the cops don't need to come, you just need to go to a collision center within three days. I did it 30m later, and the cop said it probably wasn't worth it for me to file a formal report. I went to my mechanic today though (because I have no clue how to appraise vehicular damage) who suggested I try to get her to give me some money without insurance because there was some bowing of my trunk where the spare tire on the back absorbed the damage, but it wasn't worth the hassle of insurance.
