Our most recent project in 2D Process has been a five part composition with several silhouettes of an object within a Mondrian-style grid. We used acrylic paint to create three versions:
First in black, white, and a shade of grey.
Next with a color tetrad used for the object, but retaining the achromatic background.
Finally, full color using the same color tetrad.
As you can see, the unicorn has returned; this past Xmas my dad gave me a unicorn statuette to commemorate my short online comic. It seemed a fitting choice of subject for this project as I would be painting in rather garish colors. Overall I'm pleased with the results (despite a few mistakes along the way), especially given that I had some fairly crippling migraines for much of last week and had to rush to get this done.
