Although technically I've been awake since roughly 5:30 AM. And I didn't even stumble into bed until 3 AM (because Connor, who is sick, was up until 3 AM, and he can't be left without supervision), and probably fell asleep around 3:30 AM.
Needless to say, I'm up now because Connor is. He's up because he was scary-hot with fever and I nursed him back to sleep, then tried to sneak out of bed to get him some medicine. Of course he immediately woke up and was not having that, so he followed me out and refused to go back to bed after I gave him some medicine.
So he's watching Baby Einstein, and I'm despising my underslept existence. So... damn... tired of this sick-children-not-sleeping nonsense.
Oh, and to top it all off, Connor went back into his and Gavin's room around 6 AM (I assumed to grab a blanket, since he likes to drag his blanket out to the living room) and a moment later I hear Gavin hollering in his miserable I'm-ill voice, "TURN IT OFF! TURN IT OFF!" Yeah, Connor went in there and turned on the overhead light, thereby pulling Gavin out of his sick semi-conscious dozing. Thankfully Gavin was able to resettle and somewhat fall back to sleep again, but I felt bad for him; he's having a hard enough time sleeping already, due to the constant coughing. (Children's cough suppressant isn't doing much for Gavin, unfortunately.) Having the lights suddenly turned on is really not helpful.
