a new life goal

So I just had this dream where I'd been hired to look after this house while the owners were away. Part of the house was this big greenhouse-esque room - three walls were green-tinted glass and there were plants EVERYWHERE. Special auto-timed mist machines, like the kind they have in the produce sections of supermarkets, would water the plants according to what they needed. The planters were placed according to light requirements; a dark area against the back (non-glass) wall had orchids, vegetables were right against the glass walls for the maximum sunlight. They also had tanks scattered throughout the room and some of these held freshwater fish, while others held amphibians. There was a small tank for the purposes of growing mealworms to feed the fish and amphibians.

So every day I'd walk through the room, feed the fish and amphibians, and check on the plants. And then I'd sit out there in the moist air, surrounded by plants and the sound of frogs while still being indoors, and feel the warmth of the sun shining through the window. (For any Torontonians, it was kind of like the tropical-plant room at the Ontario Science Centre.)

One of my new goals in life is to own such a room someday.
