For the past week I have been in Symbicort Hell. I've had a continual vicious headache that has basically kept me on the couch or in bed, as well as other wondrous side effects such as aching teeth, dizziness and muscle weakness, and mild anxiety. I went out to a friend's wedding nine days ago and that is pretty much the last time I've been able to leave the house, other than a visit to the respirologist; Frolic has been doing the grocery store and that sort of thing. I can make dinner and semi-watch the kids and that's the grand total of what I've been capable of doing every day. I haven't really wanted to post about it because it seemed terribly boring and whiny to be all OMG I FEEL SO MISERABLE WAHHH CONSOLE ME.
In fact, the side effects seemed to be *increasing* rather than decreasing after the first couple days, so I cut my dose down to once a day rather than twice a day. I expected that this way I'd only have a headache 12 hours a day instead of 24. Unfortunately, that didn't work; I just had the headache for roughly 23 hours a day.
But the good news is that this morning I woke up and I didn't feel like shit! HUZZAH! (I was actually doing a victory dance in the kitchen and Frolic wandered in. I was rather embarrassed since I'd been doing a Sims-style dance, waving my arms around my head in a flailing and uncoordinated fashion.) And I just took today's dose an hour or so ago and the horrible headache hasn't kicked in nearly as bad as it normally does! So maybe, just maybe, my body is starting to adjust! :D I got to go to the store today, and let me tell you internetz, it felt SO GOOD to be able to move around without clutching at walls, and to be able to stand for more than ten minutes or so at a time.
