Some recs...

In the last fics you can find on LJ, there are quite a few very cute ones. I won't rec them here, but if you need some "comforting" fic, I can direct you to them.
Tonight I'll three very different from each other fics :
First is a Merlin/Arthur Canon Era AU :
8x12x8 by skellerbvvt ; PG-13; 6 Parts; 55k words ; Warning : dark
A/S : Uther blamed Arthur for Igraine's death but couldn't bring himself to kill him. Instead he keeps him locked up because Arthur looks just like Igraine and he can't bare to look at him. Uther remarries and has other kids so the heir issue isn't a problem. Merlin comes to Camelot and he accidentally comes across the place where Arthur is locked away. They talk through the door and eventually end up falling for each other. Probably sounds cheesy but I'm actually picturing it quite dark and angsty.
This is indeed dark and angsty, and the Arthur in this fic is absolutely heartbreaking. And there's a lot of psychosis and stuff and Arthur is this child that didn't grow up properly and... I don't know how to describe this fic. I cried a lot over it, and don't read it if you want a happy fluffy time, but DO read it if you want to read a masterpiece AU.
Secondly, let's get back to your happy Merlin/Arthur Modern AUs !
Two Weeks Notice, by ras_elased (porthos on AO3) ; NC-17; 5 Parts ; 38k words
A/S : Arthur is a prattish Executive VP of the Pendragon Corporation with a disturbingly non-ironic love of Demotivational posters. Merlin is a tree-hugging barista with a "magic" tongue. Morgana's a peeping Tom and her breasts have superpowers. Gwen and Lancelot get married. Owain is the company bicycle. Arthur attempts to steal Merlin's affections from Will through epic DDR combat. Merlin gets drunk a lot. There is a pillow fight, and a helicopter ride, and rooftop confessions, and Arthur decides Merlin really is his destiny, whether he likes it or not.
As maybe you can guess by reading the summary, this fic is utter craziness and glee. Really puts you in a good mood. A very lovely Company fic indeed !
Camelot's Sweethearts, by mariana_oconnor ; R ; 7 Parts ; 63k words
A/S : Arthur is a film star, Merlin is his personal assistant who might, possibly be head over heels in love with him. However, Arthur’s more interested in his ex, Morgana, and then the mysterious Sophia to notice… Oh, and Will is awesome.
This is a Reel fic so if you've seen the movie, maybe it won't be as pleasurable. But if you don't know the story, this is an excellent fic and the characters fit perfectly (not only the main ones, but also Gaius or Uther or Sophia...) ! You really ought to read this !
