Let's start to rec shall we ?
It's been a while since I wanted to start a rec list, and, by that, start up with a rec tag.
And I decided to start it today as I'm just out of reading a very very wonderful story !
So here is my first Arthur/Merlin rec :
A Binding Contract, by eldee_fic ; Twelve parts; NC-17; 99k words; Warnings: sex trade work; authority figures (control over magic); some violence; mentions of minor character death
A/S : In a society where people with magic are considered to be dangerous, are labelled as freaks, and have their powers cut off from them, Merlin does whatever he can to survive the hard life he’s faced with. When he’s in desperate need of money, Merlin’s landlord Aredian arranges and offers a magically binding contract in which Merlin is to become a ‘companion’ to Uther Pendragon’s son, Arthur. And when Merlin feels compelled to accept it, he never would have imagined that one man could change his life so completely.
This is a wonderful Modern AU with magic. They are usually not my favourite, but this one is really great. The modern world "with magic" is quite believable, the character are very touching and I love how Morgana and Nimueh are treated to be close to the show but particular to this fic. Arthur and Merlin are gorgeous, of course, and I love Freya and Leon (and Will, but Leon is really... great.)
So you can expect me back for more rec very soon, since I spend half od my life reading Arthur/Merlin fanfictions, and I have already bookmarked 336 of these "worth reading again" !
