On Being Santa

One of the things I find inordinately stressful this time of year is the wrapping. I hired a babysitter so that I could go out and get presents for the kids, but wrapping is all on me. And I hate to wrap. Usually I stay up for hours (3 or more) the night before and wrap.

Yesterday I had the day off work for stress-related craziness, and I wrapped the kids' presents. I also made ornaments for the kids' teachers. (They have around 16 teachers between them, isn't that crazy?!) The kids had made 4 of them, but gosh, we needed to speed up that process, and it's fun!

And then I made a couple of those nearly-no-sew tutus for kids (thank goodness my kids can't read this blog yet). Those are incredibly fun to make and I can't wait to see their faces. I want to make more of them in spiderman and superman colors so they match the way my kids like to dress up.

And then I played around with some other things that could be made. I was all crafty and stuff. I love to make things. I had forgotten how much I love to make things! Won't it be great when the kids can make things, too!

I seriously need more time without my kids. If only it didn't cost $12-15/hour.
