After the
recent debacle over the new Halo 2 maps (which had to be rereleased because they were buggy as hell) and the failure to update playlists as promised, Bungie have cocked up yet again - this time with the release of the Halo 3 beta.
Friends and family of Microsoft and Bungie employees have been playing since last week, along with those lucky few who won beta invites in competitions. Owners of Crackdown[1] have had to wait until today to play. Except it seems that they will
have to wait a bit longer, because the download is broken. Go Bungie!
All of my non-360 owning Halo clan predicted this would be a monumental cock-up and from the looks of things they were right.
[1] A Microsoft Studios game that was seemingly bundled with a beta invite to boost sales (
to the point of spawning some inspired Photoshop jobs), but which turned out to be surprisingly good.
