My sister

My sister, valerie_z is in the hospital and I don't expect her to make it. Due to some drug interaction, her lithium levels became toxic and for some reason no one understands yet, her brain swelled and yesterday she had no brain activity. They gave her more meds and another day, which ends soon. In about an hour someone will come in and tell me my sister

Oh my god I'm so sorry. She's been quiet on LJ for about a year but I've followed her joys and sorrows and struggles for several years. Her posts always stirred some emotion in me; I even quoted her in a sermon once (with her permission). I hope she can be at peace now and I hope you and your family will be okay.

I don't know how to help you on the tech end. I do have a few mutual friends with her on my LJ and can post about this if you want, with a link to this post since it's open to the public. Just let me know.

Oh, I am so sorry! I have been following Valerie since the Buffy days. I always loved reading her posts. She is so smart and funny, I would often quote her to my husband. I'll keep all of you in my thoughts.
I don't know if we have friends in common, but I'll repost on my journal.

R, if you don't mind, I'll chime in here too as your comment is exactly what I want to say too. Just saw this news. Valerie was one of the very first people I met online, her forums were where I met my most enduring friends and were the foundation for meeting many more. Without her influence, my life would be completely different.
