The Littlest Bar has ceased to be

Oct 17, 2007 18:56

maggiesox posted over the weekend lamenting the destruction of the Littlest Bar in Downtown Boston. In her post, there were differing comments as to when the bar was going to be torn down to put up condos; some people said it hadn't happened yet. Well...my engraver is in the Diamond Building, and the windows in his hallway overlook the construction site, and my jeweler, Florin Ghita is in the Jewelery Exchange Building and the back entrance is on Province Street, next to Chacarero, so I've seen the carnage first hand.

I promised her I'd take photos of the site the next time I was in the area. As it happens, I went to both the engraver and the jeweler on Tuesday.

Looking down from the 8th floor of 387 Washington (the Diamond Building).

Looking up Province from Bromfield Street.

Standing directly across the street from where the Littlest Bar used to be,
in front of Sam LaGrasse's at 44 Province Street.
The Littlest Bar, and Windows on the World. What are two places I could have gone to but didn't and now I never can for $500, Alex?
