[It's not every day that you wake up after a particularly good game of kick-the-disembodied-witch-skull-around to discover you are very much not at Spiral Mountain. Or... anywhere you even vaguely recognize. Even if you are a first-class adventuring hero ( Read more... )

Hi fellow video game pal! mush_monarch July 24 2011, 05:07:54 UTC
[Well, OK, Peach got... a lot of info these past two days and she doesn't know how exactly she should react to those. She got some shoes though, but she's still wearing that white gown they gave her upon arrival. Not really the time to go 'shopping' while she still confused as hell.

And... well, big walking talking bird. Not really a surprise there. She is used to unusual things anyway.]

Hey, hm... Did you just arrive too?

Hi there! 8D talontrot July 24 2011, 05:38:47 UTC
[Kazooie may be used to unusual things, yes, but she is not used to human-things. Having only ever seen about five of them in your whole life'll do that to you. Especially when most of them have green skin.

Naturally, this doesn't stop her from being a sarcastic jerk right away.]

You mean that isn't stupidly obvious?

... Look, lady, have you seen a dumb bear in shorts anywhere around? I gotta figure out where he ran off to before he does something like rope us into helping some bozo out or whatever it is he does when I'm not supervising.

I was so excited to see a Kazooie when i saw the apps XD mush_monarch July 24 2011, 16:59:47 UTC
[OK, not the 'nicest' bird she ever met, but then again she got to known some really obnoxious people in the past days, so that really isn't the worst that bird could say.]

I didn't see anyone like that, sorry.

Do you, hm, want help looking for him? [Because, even though Peach is as lost as she can be, she still wants to be helpful.]

I thought it was cool we were getting a Peach! 83 talontrot July 24 2011, 23:49:06 UTC
Sheesh. [As irritated as Kazooie looks by this, somewhere in the back of her head she's a bit worried. This probably means he got himself kidnapped. Great.]

The faster I find the big lug, the quicker I can get outta this dump. Though I wouldn't be against running into ol' Grunty too - she's probably behind this latest mess. 'Cause I sure wouldn't wake up in the middle of a forest by myself!

Awh <3 Maaaan, it has been forever since I played Banjo Kazooie in any shape or form... mush_monarch July 25 2011, 21:17:15 UTC
I.... don't remember hearing anything about someone called Grunty around here. It seems like someone called Malnosso is behind people being dragged to this place. Or so I've been told.

And I think finding your friend isn't really going to be enough to take you out of here... [She hates breaking bad news to people, but it's better than hiding the truth.]

I have yet to really do so myself 8| Missing the N64 and not having an XBox sets me back talontrot July 27 2011, 03:43:40 UTC
[This stops Kazooie right in her tracks - first, because it's so totally out of left field, and secondly, because nothing has ever stopped her from exiting a world before, excluding boss scenes and the like.]

... What?!

What the heck is a Mal-what-o? And why's it stopping us from leaving? I bet it won't be stopping anybody after I pelt it with Grenade Eggs!

By the cound of it, the Malnosso is whoever, or whatever, brought us here.

But it's not exactly it that's keeping us here. Is a force field around this world you see. And, according to what people told me, it is a quite indestructible one. I don't think Grenade Eggs would be enough to break it.

[She sounds highly frustrated as she explains that; She kind of wished those grenades would work.]

It... works and then doesn't work here 8|;;; talontrot July 29 2011, 02:33:24 UTC
Something that doesn't break to Grenade Eggs... [This is pretty new for Kazooie, but there are things that need ways around them. Puzzles. In Kazooie's experience, though, there's always some way.]

Maybe it needs Jiggies to open it or somethin'. Is Master Jiggywiggy anywhere around?

OK, it seems to be stable over here... for now. mush_monarch July 29 2011, 22:00:39 UTC
Hm... I'm sorry but I don't think this person is around here either, but I'm kind of new to this place, so I could be wrong.

What this master does? [Because, well, anything or anyone that could get them out of there would be good.]

Let's hope it stays that way D: talontrot July 30 2011, 02:34:37 UTC
Jiggywiggy's the guy who oversees the Crystal Jiggy - this big shiny Jiggy that unlocks all the world entrances. Last game, we couldn't get into 'em until he opened the way for us.

Pretty sure this has gotta be something similar, right? They wouldn't be that dumb, making worlds we can't get into...

Hmm... So it works like the Pure Hearts then. [She ponders for a moment. They did open the doors to the next words back in Flipside. She just doesn't get that 'game' part, but she isn't going to ask about it.]

Well, I'm pretty sure that if a person like that were around, people would be able to escape from this place, but seems like everyone is stuck in here.

Pure Hearts...? What're those? [It's nothing Kazooie's ever heard of. Maybe that's the name for Jiggies wherever this one comes from? Jiggies get all sorts of stupid names from people.]

Well, I dunno. It doesn't make sense that there wouldn't be a way to get into the next world! There's always a way. Maybe Note Doors...?

mush_monarch July 30 2011, 04:09:24 UTC
They are, like, huge jewel-like hearts that emanate light energy. [Certainly not a Jiggy... whatever that is.]

Hmm... Wait! This is all sounding really familiar! I had to gather the Pure Hearts back home to open the doors to other worlds too! [There's clearly a pattern here...]

[Yeah, doesn't sound like a Jiggy. But the similarities are uncanny.]

That's really weird. Why would they make something do the exact same thing as Jiggies, but make them different? Tired of big gold puzzle pieces?

Hearts sound pretty sissy to me. [Says the girl that literally spits grenades.]

mush_monarch July 31 2011, 21:11:17 UTC
Well, they were quite beautiful. They looked like giant jewels.

So... they are like puzzle-pieces in your world.

But, all these similarities... what do they really mean? Do you think we should look for any of those around here? [It could be possible to find a Pure Heart in that world. After all, they found those in the weirdest places.]

I've been looking for Jiggies, but there's none in this dumb forest. No Eggs, Feathers, or Notes either - what a gyp! [Kazooie makes a little noise of irritation.] But if we can find a few Jiggies, or some of those Pure Hearts you're talking about, maybe we can get through that stupid barrier and get outta here.

[She trots a bit further up the path, peering around.] I mean, you can't have a puzzle with no solution. That's just stupid.

[... Unless it's like one of those invisible walls that stop Kazooie from going places...

... Nah. It wouldn't be like that, would it? Kazooie doesn't even want to think about what that would mean, yet. She'd rather assume there's some method of getting past.]
