Atheists....

My systems seem to be back to normal, now. Still not sure what happened. I would have guessed something like 'stomach flu' or... well, -anything-, but when you only have one single symptom it's just... confusing ( Read more... )

This isn't a very good way to say this, because it doesn't truly translate well, but reading this really moved me in away.

I’m a firm believer that there is a God or how ever people choice to distribe it/them, but I’m not one for the politics that comes with religion and my spiritual/moral beliefs are a bit of mosaic made from a lot of sources. Where the pieces move and the image is ever evolving into something much clearer.

To me, religion is more of a social system then a spiritual one. Yeah, there's spirituality and mystisim mixed in there but really it's just a set standards that someone came up with on how people should live to attain the favor of a higher power. I'm sure that there is probably is an Universal standard but there no way to really know what God wants. God may not want anything. God could be like some fat guy, who hasn't left his house in YEARS, stuck in an elaborate arm chair, watching millions screens at once, just watching whatever pops up for shits and giggles for all we really know!

Which basically is what everone else has said. ^__^;

I do like sitting in, and occassionally joining in on religious, life-syle debates though. Sometimes someone else's take on things can be enlighting. It either introduces something new or reaffirms what I already believe in.

Religion -is- a social system. That's totally the point in it. It might revolve around spirituality, but without social-ness, there is no religion. So yeah, everything that you just said. XD

Most of my friends *as proven by all of these comments* share the same opinions on this matter, which makes sense to me, since you guys probably wouldn't be my friends if we didn't think so similarly. XD

Similar to you, I really love getting into conversations or debates about religious things. It really is more of a wish to hear about how other people see things and how that works for them, and to offer back and forth ideas about new thoughts or outlooks or whatnot. Makes me really miss one of my friends back in OH and her Faith Club that I only got to go to once. :/
