Well well, I don't appear to have posted anything for a while. For those of you who saw my last post, I didn't write it! They are actually the lyrics to "A Soul Upon This" by Oneiroid Psychosis.

Now where to begin. It's Sunday, quiet dead and dull as per normal. Spent most of the day nursing a thumping hangover. New washing machine was delivered as promised, and has a very whiny spin. Yeah, just great for that headache, so eventually I figured that shutting the door to the utility room was probably a good idea. (Note to self: Better stick that wall panel back in place sometime). In it's favour it doesn't leak. Having advised Ange yesterday that computers and hangovers are not a good mix, I then spent ample time fiddling with Quake 3 Threewave on both computers. Thoughts of downloading anything from FilePlanet soon dissapated.... my theory being bandwidth mongering monkeys downloading the Unreal 2003 demo released about....er..... 2 days ago. Suddenly the word is out and the whole system goes to fuck. typical. Why do you always have to pay for good service?
Getting bored and frustrated I wandered in and out waiting for the laundry to finish. It seemed to be taking a long time. Went upstairs and caught the end of "Return To Witch Mountain". I don't think I've seen that movie in like...20 years? Holy shit '70s Disney films suck. Not much scope for Christopher Lee to dazzle sadly, and Bett Davis? Well past it by '78 I reckon. And the token henchman, played by an actor who I've seen in that role far too many times but cannot remember the name of for the life of me. And uh, yeah.....kids. 2 of which are aliens with powers. I digress. So I think I came downstairs again and went to sleep for a while. Oh, but before that I caught the end credits of some music show on channel 4, and um....my jaw hit the floor. No, it was not some scantily clad woman taking ever layers of clothes off jaw dropping... I think I saw what appeared to be Axl Rose and presumably the new Guns n Roses. Is this possible? Axl looked like he was doing his best to hark back to the glory days of the early 90s (ok, maybe without the lifeguard outfit). But he was a shadow of his former self. The voice he used to have sounds like it has not been used in a while. The band all looked to be about half his age. I am suprised that Axl managed to release anything it at all....there is a time when when you have to realise you've missed your chance. I can't imagine this sort of thing appealing to the young rockers of today...... nor the old who would mostly swear by albums of 1987 and might miss the point of "new material". Yeah, harking back to the good old days. Of course, am I dreaming? By the way, I was never a G n R fan though. Sweet Child O Mine made me want to barf when it came out. Always had a bit of respect for Slash though. Gah I'm rambling.

Anway, had a job interview on Friday as a "network supervisor" Well, ok, the company concerned can't afford a proper one so they're tendering at the jobcentre for some sucker like me ;) Looks like it could be a job that would hold my interest for a while. So hopefully I might get a trial period of 2 days soon, fingers crossed.
