"This wasn't supposed to permanent," Myn pointed out. He was still in a bit of a daze about the whole situation. "I guess they need me back. I hope that doesn't mean someone else died..." he winced, zipping up his bag.
Eric nodded, flopping down onto his bed. "Yeah, I know, I just... I thought maybe you'd be here longer, is all." He smiled a bit, just a little. "It's great that you get to go back, though. I know it's what you wanted."
Myn sighed, scruffing a hand through his hair and sitting down on the edge of his bed. "I can't stand being grounded for this long, Eric," he said honestly, looking the other boy in the eye. "It's great here - really. But this isn't where I'm really needed. I know you can do better than me, anyway." he managed a slight, halfway smile.
"Yeah, that guy on the cruise was pretty awesome," Eric retorted. He sighed, though, and got up to move over beside Myn. "Seriously, though, don't put yourself down like that. It's been... great, being here with you."
"It's been a lot of fun," Myn agreed. "And it's not like I'm going to forget everything that happened." He sighed, pausing to work the words out in his head first. "I won't say that I would rather stay here, because we both know that isn't true. But I'm glad I came here and got to meet you and everyone else."
"Until 10:00 tonight, apparently. But I want to be out and ready no later than 9:45." Myn eyed the uniform with some dislike; rare indeed was the pilot who enjoyed being dressed up.
"I don't really have much to pack," Myn said sheepishly. "All I really have left is to get one last shower with almost-unlimited hot water and then get dressed."
"Getting called home for a mission or something?" he asked, leaning against the wall by the door.
