muffy

i come home today from work to find cory has downloaded a copy of "Today's Special". apparently "Today's Special" in this taping was ICE CREAM

i was immediately drawn in to viewing the episode and i began remembering my childhood. the show was taped between 1981-1987 so i most likely was 5 when i began watching.

the premise at the beginning of every show is Jodie picks up Jeff, who is a mannequin in what seems to be a department store. she brings him back to her pad/place/studio and
he magically jumps to life and the show begins. perhaps my most favorite parts of the show were muffy the rat/mouse and the infamous TLK 2000 supercomputer.

i have include some snapshots below as well as the theme song. its guaranteed instant remind of the mid 80's.

unfortunately i can't figure out, nor have the time to post the theme song so here is the link.. go listen.
Theme Song hint: use real player to listen

on a different note, i am watching Dirty Jobs on cable right now and i always find this show rather interesting. this epsiode they are making biodiesel from old grease from deep fryers.
i didnt know that diesel engines can burn vegetable/peanut/soybean oil with have any modifications made to them. this dude is putting biodiesel in an old car that has 170k miles on it and he
makes the diesel in his garage. pretty interesting i think. he is saying that after all the processing he can make a gallon of bio-diesel for 55cents. neat! ok enough nerdiness.

anyways i am tired, im not feeling so hot and i think i am going to drown away my sickness in nyquil.

that reminds me, i went to Fred Meyer to get sudafed last night and totally forgot about the Oregon meth-head law. i had to show I.D. to get friggin sudafed. the girl at the pharmacy counter grabbed me a box (since it is no longer available to the public) and wrote down my driver's license number and the serial numbers that are stamped on the pills. friggin crazy. she also notified me that in the future, sudafed and all psuedoephedrine containing products will be available by prescription only. i can't fucking believe that. gah.

good night, moon.

p.s. i heard the new madonna song on the radio.. it sounds cool. i knew i had heard the background music before so i did a little investigative research and she STOLE IT FROM ABBA! its GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE from abba.
it sounds ok i suppose. go download or buy the cd.
