So then I said...

Yes, I'm updating. I know. I never update. I'm starting to get annoyed that my screenname is spelled incorrectly, so I might change my screenname to some variation of "talleyrand" at some point.

Last night I was up until 3 am. Was I studying for IB exams? Not bloody likely. I was watching Alfie. You see, I would have watched it earlier, but then I was sucked in watching late night TV. For some reason, my mom was watching Jay Leno at 11, so I joined in. It was actually really bad because Jay was unfunny and the guest wasn't even all that good, but I sat through it anyway because I wanted to watch Conan O'Brien. So it was 1 am when I finally got to watching Alfie. I don't know why I was so hellbent on watching it that night, but I was. In the past three years of high school, you see, I have neglected the simple pleasures of staring at a screen and being entertained. On an unrelated note, I also want to catch up with at least two years of not reading nearly enough.

I went to bed at 3am and woke up at 9am. Those are the hours I probably will keep at college.

So today I took this online quiz to find out which philosophers I agree with most. Satre, Rand, and John Stuart Mill. Interesting.

Your Results:

"The list below is modified by your input. The results are scored on a curve. The highest score, 100, represents the closest philosophical match to your reponses. This is not to say that you and the philosopher are in total agreement. However this is a philosophy that you may want to study further."

1. Jean-Paul Sartre (100%)
2. Ayn Rand (85%)
3. John Stuart Mill (84%)
4. Kant (77%)
5. Jeremy Bentham (72%)
6. Prescriptivism (67%)
7. Epicureans (64%)
8. Nietzsche (60%)
9. David Hume (59%)
10. Thomas Hobbes (59%)
11. Cynics (52%)
12. Nel Noddings (48%)
13. Stoics (47%)
14. Aquinas (42%)
15. Aristotle (42%)
16. Spinoza (35%)
17. Ockham (30%)
18. St. Augustine (26%)
19. Plato (23%)

I feel pretty bad for not agreeing more with Plato, but oh well. I should be studying for biology. I'm going to go make a valient attempt to do that now.
