I think one problem with Bush is that he tries to avoid the media so his message doesn't get out. I think I read that he's had the fewest press conferences among recent Presidents. He should actually take pages out of the McCain playbook and talk to the media all the time. His message will get out there instead of being filtered by the media and his public speaking skills will get better with all the practice. People believe someone more who takes the effort to get out their message rather than relying on their defenders to get out their message.

Yes like I said I wish he would address the nation and do more interviews and put himself out there. He's let's the press tear him to shreds without responding.

I think the reason why he doesn't talk to the media very much is because they are harsh on him. He's probably afraid that they're going to ask him quesitons he doens't know the answer to right away or that he's gonna mess up on it. But of course, I think most people know when someone is being treated unfairly.

I dont think most Americans 'hate' President Bush as the press would have us believe.

Of course, I dont understand why some people want to translate it into that, certainly things are looking better for the Democrats. Polls indicate that but we know polls are not always right. We have to wait til election day, then once we know the results we can judge whether the analysts, experts, and pundits knew what they were talking about, or that they were all full of shit.

Bush has dissappointed a lot of conservatives with his out-of-control spending and his illegal immigration policy. I think everyone is disappointed with the result of the Iraq War so far. We were told that our troops would be treated like liberators and be greeted with flowers and candy but they've been greeted with car bombs and flying bullets. They did a bad job of setting up the expectations for the war.

Well at first they were greeted as liberators, dont forget that, we saw the images in March of 2003, but apparently the Administration underestimated that there would be such an insurgency as there is today. The administration/military did not lock down the Iraqi Border which they should have done to stop foreign fighters from infiltrating Iraq, much like they wouldnt shutter our own borders to block illegal immigrants. I am somewhat disenchanted by the GOP leadership and the President, but I still admire the President and support him. I dont just automatically become a Democrat because people in my party made mistakes. I also dont change my viewpoints because most of the country seems to want to 'throw the bums out'.

Yeah, it doesn't help us in sealing the Iraqi borders when we can't even protect our own borders.

I'm being very selective in voting this time. I'm not just blindly voting for someone b/c they have an "R" next to their name. I'm kinda doing like Glenn Beck said, "don't vote for Republicans, Democrats or Independents, vote for Americans. Vote for people who have the country's best interest in mind."

Well thats difficult to do considering 95% of them are beholden to a party machine....... For the most part I'm voting straight ticket this election.... Katherine Harris doesnt have a chance in hell and there isnt any Republican or anyone for that matter challenging my Democratic Congressman. So the national elections mean jack squat from where im at. It's the Governor's race and the cabinet and the amendments that matter.

Bill Nelson is going to beat Katherine Harris. THe only quiestion is, "will he get more than 60% of the vote?" I think Charlie Crist will also definitely beat Jim Davis. I think the Cabinet seat the Dems are going after the hardest is the Atty. Gen. seat that McCollum is running for.

As for me, my House seat is Debbie Wasserman-Schultz's district. She won with 71% last time. I just received the sample ballot for my county and they dind't even list my district on the ballot. I'm afraid that she's my only choice and I strongly dislike her politics. I wish there was at least a Libertarian or a GReen I could vote for instead of her.

You see what I have to deal with in this district. And there's a possibility that I may not even be able to vote against her.
