I gots me a new friend

I have been craving a snake for such a loooong time, and last week I finally caved to temptation. And I have to say I am thoroughly, thoroughly happy with my purchase.

She's a baby amelanistic corn snake. (Or he. I haven't the faintest idea what it is and I switch gender pronouns on a daily basis). I just adore her to bits. She's very well-tempered; still a bit shy, but she's learning to calm down once I've held her a few minutes. And she doesn't bite. I don't think it even occurs to her as an option.

She's really settled in great; the cats are entirely oblivious to her and she's oblivious to them.  Her first feeding session yesterday went by with no problems at all, she's been raised on frozen mice and I'm keeping her on them. I keep a discreet little baggie of mouscicles in the freezer.

And if you've never seen a snake eat, let me tell you it is friggin' amazing. They walk with their jaws.

My only problem now: it has no name! When I was a kid, I was determined to own an albino ribbon snake and name it Charlie, but this is an amelanistic corn and frankly, it just doesn't seem like a Charlie. I've mulled over Marzipan, Ginger, Panzer, Cornflower...I dunno. I suck at naming things. Having a gender would help. It's coloration is just soooo gorgeous though that no name is worthy enough!
