Hm...well...I still can't get Manga Studio to play nice, so I guess I'll be doing all my line-art inking type stuff in Photoshop. I know my computer can run 600dpi for lines at least...then I can just shrink it down to 300dpi when I color. I just need to practice. It doesn't take very long, either, and undoing errors is easier *laughs....rages at tracing paper and erasers* But, I think by the time all's said and done, I'll be a contortionist. With all the twisting and bending and standing on my head just to get the angle of a stroke right, it'll be tough. At least I'm doing the pen-tool for long lines, and discovering the calligraphy pen nibs is a plus.
I think the only DOWNside to this is the fact that I'll have to select a new brush every once in a while, because the angle of the calligraphy stroke may not match the thickness of the line I'm drawing. But it's all good. I can just go through the image doing all the lines I can with the one nib and then switch over to get the other lines.
...Come to think of it, if I do it this way, I can just scan my storyboards and ink them directly, and I get those done in a big hurry....so I wouldn't have to buy anymore bristol board...or....
EUREKA =_____= *brain explodes into candy* *scans all storyboards*
EDIT: All of Chapter 2, Part 1 has been scanned, put on its proper page, texted and formatted. All I gotta do is finish with the pretty-making. I'm glad I put as much effort into these storyboards as I did *laughs* I only have to make some detail adjustments on a few pages, and design me some floating cars. I deserve a venti soy chai. I will be back later *laughs*
EDIT2: Ah man, these pages look gorgeous with this new inking method ;____ ; I think it takes about the same time to ink digitally as it does to ink by hand, scan and clean. Plus I get the added bonus of having super-thin lines like I've been striving for all these long years *laughs* Now if only I weren't so damned hungry, I could keep going. Already have 2 pages inked. Next page makes me smile.
