warm rain and french toast

it's been raining non-stop today, so for most of the afternoon we curled up with a blanket on the sofa watching a cantonese comedy. the most perfect way to spend a gloomy saturday afternoon in my books. earlier on, we had lunch with his family at isa brown. it was the first time i've eaten there, it was nice. although the place was quite large, the atmosphere was cosy with an array of mismatched chairs and old wooden tables. the crowd was a mix of all ages, but on most tables were young families. i had a french toast with berry compote and maple syrup, it wasn't the best i've had but it warmed my stomach.

tonight will be dvd night. there wasn't really a lot there i wanted to watch. their world cinema section was tiny. i have been waiting to rent russion dolls but not until ken has watched the spanish apartment. we left the video store with layer cake and a lot like love.

i suddenly feel like dessert, but i've just come back from a huge chinese dinner and about to pop. we've run out of strawberries. yesterday we used our last punnet for making strawberry crepes. not quite as good as the crepes we used to have at stokers, but almost.

ok, shower time.. then to the sofa!
