Today there were mule deer, wolves, mating grouse, two black bears, one large and one small, mountain goats, and invisible big horn sheep. There were also uncountable numbers of cattle, many horses, a slowly fading culture, and a quickly fading state of water. To supplement these, there were two through hikers on the Continental Divide trail, a Blackfoot Indian, and a Chinese farmer turned full-time traveler.
And now I will settle down next to the largest purple spoon in the world to eat my piece of strawberry-rhubarb pie.
