Abby's teeth were gently nibbling on his toes, her rough hand creeping slowly upwards to his knee.
Connor sighed in pleasure and caressed the scaly hand now resting softly on his right thigh, just a few centimetres away from the rim of his boxer shorts.
Her mouth whispered sweet nonsense into his ear while still suckling on his feet.
The lovely words, "Time to get up, Connor. Our kids are hungry," penetrated his foggy brain and he smiled happily.
She continued to lave his toes and he slipped back to the nice place between sleep and awakening.
"Connor, it's your turn to feed them. Stand up!"
Connor's smile broadened. He loved forceful Abby in the mornings. But how could he stand up if she was still attending to his body? Perhaps her hand would slide just a tad higher and...
"Connor!" This time the voice had a ring of anger. Tentatively Connor cracked an eye open.
Abby stood beside his bed with her arms akimbo and a faint scowl on her face. But he could still feel her scaly hand on his thigh and her teeth on both of his big toes.
With a shriek Connor leaped up from the bed, badly startling Sid and Nancy at his feet and throwing a drowsy Rex off his leg in the process.
Connor stared accusingly at the lizard and the two diictodons before he traipsed resignedly into the kitchen to prepare their food.
A moment later, two arms closed around him from behind and a head was resting against his back.
"You know it's not very flattering if you turn your back on me to carry on snoring if I try to wake you with a kiss," Abby said.
"Sorry, luv. I'm not Sleeping Beauty. But is it really necessary to set the kids on me every morning?"
Abby just chuckled and enjoyed the rare moment of quiet with her sleepy boyfriend.
The noises of demanding animals, the ringing of mobiles or the annoying alarm of the anomaly detector would disturb the peace soon enough.
