Poll Christine's ChoiceThis has been nagging me for some time. I think which you support shows what sort of personality you have, though I'm not sure what sort that is to begin with. Still, I'm wondering who thinks what on my friend's list. I would have liked to seen her with The Phantom, though I've heard from other friends that they prefered Raoul.
My choice is mostly based off the sense of adventure. The Phantom is dark and primal wants and needs for Christine. He's not evil, he's just not accepted as the norm and it seems the musical supports the much more natural pairing of Christine and Raoul. It's safe - predictable, and what society wants for her. Nooo we can't have a young girl prancing off into the dark of night with a mysterious and slightly deformed man who wants nothing more than to make her happy and let her live the way she wants. She must measure up to society's standards! She must be a delicate lady who fits nicely on the arm of an equally nice looking man!
