This summer one of my lifetime dreams has come true. Yeah, perhaps it's lame but I've always wanted to travel to New York City! I've waited for it so many years :sigh: and this July 31, the adventure began :P
DAY 1:
I couldn't sleep at all that night. We (my sister and I) went to the Madrid Airport quite early but anyway it was fully crowed; waited for almost an hour to check in then run to the A Gate to get in the aircraft. Fortunately we took off on time. The flight was more than 8 hours. They played a couple of movies, "Phantom of the Ophera" and other one I can't remember but guess what? my headphones were the only ones of the whole flight that didn't work. Anyway, I went sleeping half the flight 'cause I took a couple of Biodramine pills trying not to get sick. They served us lunch and before landing another snack. When arriving to JFK Airport you've got to pass the Police control and after filling a white card and a green card with the usual questions like: "Are you a terrorist?", "Do you plan to stay illegal in the USA?" or "Do you intend to introduce drugs in the USA?", they ask you for your electronic passport plus your fingertips and a photo or eye scanner, I wasn't sure, and then they let you in.
Cool, our baggage has arrived safely, we go to take a bus to our Hotel and right there I see my cousin with her boyfriend. We see each other and we're like "HUH? :O ", we live in the same city, haven't met for years and we met in NYC???!!! Besides, we've come in the same flight and are staying in the same Hotel! Incredible. Anyway, we get to the Milford Plaza Hotel in Broadway St., checked in and went out to see a little bit of the city. The Hotel is located amazingly well, just between Times Square and Broadway theaters. OMG! I can't believe I'm in Times Square with all the lights, noise, people walking quickly, tourist taking photos,... there's also a preacher screaming on stage in the middle and people signing, this is crazy! We decided to buy some goods to eat and get back to the Hotel. I'm so tired, excited and overwhelmed by the environment that the moment I touch the bed, I feel asleep.
