http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6346197.html I know the current stuff is getting a little old. And this isn't from the perspective of someone who is worried about keeping up to date. But is it really wise to release a new $400+ console when the economy is in such a bad state? A lot of economists are saying things might get worse, too.
I think it would be better to start releasing a wave of budget games, with online components. Keep people buying and subscribing. Maybe take their time. If the dev. kits are not going to be out until the end of the year, that means that, realistically, with all the shipping and printing times, companies will have about 8 months to make the new Xbox launch titles. 8 months to blow us away and make us want to part with a huge stack of notes in such hard times.... Doesn't seem to be a good idea.
This is the point, though, when I remember that it is illegal for a corporation to *not* make money. If some one suggests there is money to be made, these assholes are bound to try and make it. Plus $400 doesn't seem like a lot when you're on over $100,000 plus bonuses.
