Game Prep (RPG)

I was just doing some game prep for our Rogue Trader RPG on Sunday when I noticed something. I couldn't realistically go forward with the plot as intended because none of my players asked about the system they were helping to defend. To them it was another dot on the map. So there are things left unexplained ( Read more... )

Yeah, White Dwarf used to feature D&D and WFRP scenarios. Then it just changed into an extended advertisement. You knew that the latest army/unit was going to win the battle report. Eventually, they even cut the black and white mail order pages out of the back, replaced with adverts for the boxed sets. That miffed me because I used to buy a lot of bits from Mail Order. They seem to discourage that nowadays.

For a while they had those awful cart inserts, too, lol.

Talisman was great. It is published by Fantasy Flight now - I do wonder how the drop/trouble will affect them as they handle a lot of licensed products from GW.

And, yes, Space Hulk is king. I still have mine, and an extra copy, complete, that I bought in a charity shop for £8! Bargain. I would play it with you quite happily. :)

The FF produced SH card game is really good. You should check it out - http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite.asp?eidm=118&enmi=Death%20Angel I'm hoping they put out some supplements/boosters.

Yeah, Bonnie got the new Talisman, which is really what got me back into playing it when she and Cian came to visit, and we got my ancient old copy out, and discovered it was still great fun to play.

Albeit very time-consuming.

Charity shop spacehulk find, awesome. That game can sell for hundreds these days too. Nice find. I did love spacehulk. Probably my favourite of the pure GW boardgames that I played.

Current favourite boardgame is Last Night On Earth though.

Never really got into card based games. The only one I've played a lot of is Munchkin.
