Batman 3 and my love for Harley Quinn

There has been a lot going on recently, or rather a lot of nothing. So I thought I'd do a fun/upbeat post. And everyone loves Harley Quinn. In fact I've yet to meet a red-blooded male who doesn't *love* her.

With the Batman 3 rumour mill working over time, I was left wondering if my favourite of the Gotham City Sirens would feature in the movie. Nah, I know it is not going to happen, but it doesn't stop me from idly dreaming. But who could you get to play her? As always, when I play the fantasy casting game seriously, I vote for an unknown if I can't think of someone. Blonde hair and blue eyes are easy, but you've got to get someone who can work in make-up, and does a creepy mixture of cute and psycho.

More realistically, though, I do have some thoughts on what I'd like to see for Batman 3. The end of the last movie set things up quite well, for a personally dark third instalment. I'd love to see Catwoman as the villain/love interest. I want to see Batman hunted down and struggling with the role, only to find some measure of solace in Catwoman - someone else who dresses up in disguise and prowls the roof tops. That'd be cool.

Slipping back into fantasy land, you could work in all three of the Sirens. Ivy could have a role similar to Scarecrow's in the first movie, and Harley could be introduced in a similar manor to the human-side of Scarecrow. That'd be cool to see a bit more of Arkham and a great way to introduce some of the other classic characters. Dr. Quinzel could be treating the Riddler, for example, and fascinated by the Joker - the one patient who is too dangerous for her to see.

That would be a good way of not showing the Joker, too. I *like* recasting the same character, so I'd like to see the Joker's story continue in Batman 3, but I know it is not going to happen. Which is a shame because you know the writers would have given him the most amazing escape from Arkham, ever. I'd not like to see someone else take up the Joker mantle, though, like the other Batmen - it'd be interesting, but not personally what I want to see.

I'm a lot less fussy when it comes down to sequel continuity; I'm more like Arthur C Clark, I suppose.

Looking forward to Inception - and then Batman 3.

harley quinn, dark knight, batman, awesome
