First post from my new Netbook!

This is my first post from my new netbook. My craptop is still around and I'm still using it, but most of my day-to-day surfing will be moving over to this slick silvery beast. Also, fwiw, I'm now on Ubuntu. Rebecca installed it on the netbook for me in an effort to keep it running smoothly. It's still a bit weird, but I figure it will be worth it in the long run. Finally, there is a strict no-pr0n policy in place. The craptop can still be used for such evil purposes, and I don't want to start gumming up the works while that one is still working.

In my free time I've had a bit of a tidy up, having *finally* got my SNES back from Console Passion. So I've been playing a lot of games. I've also been working on converting Alternity to use it to run a samurai themed game. I've got the group interested and it'll make a nice change of pace from SCAP Darksun, even if it is only for a one off. I'm still not feeling well enough to commit to running/writing anything regularly.

Just quickly then; the final chapter of the Console Passion story. I sent more emails before finally get a response, which was again unhelpful. I sent a "final" email, telling them I'd had enough and wanted my money back for all the unprofessional-ism (and loss of my SNES). I got a whining response claiming that calling them unprofessional was unfair, as well as claiming that they never agreed to send the SNES back recorded delivery - that was just an out of date part of their email that was automated. Yeah - real professional. Turns out the SNES got ripped open by an eager postman, who promptly realised they hadn't found anything good, and returned to Console Passion. They then fixed it up, as it was broken by said postman (probably kicked) and sent it to me, along with 3 Japanese carts (Front Mission, SFII Turbo (which I haven't got to work yet!) and F1 Grand Prix (which also is refusing to work!)) and a SCART lead.

It was a nice gesture but not enough to make me want to use them again - the main problem I had with the response was the moaning that I called them unprofessional. They were and even if they thought it was unfair, you don't tell the customer that they aren't being nice to you when they complain. If the customer has to complain then you've done something wrong in their eyes. Fix it, don't argue the point. If I go into KFC and complain when they haven't given me what I ordered, I don't expect the staff to start crying at me, shouting that I'm being mean. *SIGH*

So yeah, I do not recommend Console Passion, people.

console, bad service, samurai, are dicks, passion, alternity, snes, scap, import games
