Hi, I was reading Xkcd when I saw your Math Blaster avatar and was struck with nostalgic awesomeness. I was going to see if there was a thread about it, but then I got distracted trying to Google up the origin of the sentence "I have the dumb". Where the hell did it come from? It's all over the internet, but every usage seems to be referencing something and not mentioning what.
(Also, any chance of you making a version that animates more slowly?)
I honestly have no idea. Did you check wikipedia? 'Cause that's where my knowledge ends. I assume it's from having a disease-- "I have the flu" to "I have the dumb", though.
And I don't really know how to do the animations, I usually send them to a friend and he does them for me after making the images. I think the Gimp can do it, though-- you're welcome to use it and edit it if you'd like.
I went back and tried some more Googling just now. No results on Wikipedia, IMDB, Urbandictionary, everything2, or any other information source I could think of. There seems to be some sort of standard logo associated with the phrase:
On the other hand, it's not clear that it's owned by anyone in particular, since I found merchandise with the phrase on two different CafePress sites and something called www.nancybuttons.com. Also, most of the other stuff on the "New Generation" CafePress site doesn't seem particularly original; unattributed Simpsons quotes and the like
