When I was waiting tables, I decided I needed a little change purse to keep the tips in until I got home. None of the patterns online were what I was looking for, so I made my own. Here is the pattern, but please don't post the pattern elsewhere (just link to my blog, please), claim it as your own, or use the pattern to create items to sell.
Drawstring Change Purse
Materials
Size 3 thread
Size E hook
Stitch marker
4 pony beads
Abbreviations
Ch= chain
Dc= double crochet
Ea= each
Lp(s)= loop(s)
Rep= repeat
Rnd= round
Sc= single crochet
Sk= skip
Sl st= slip stitch
Sp= space
St(s)= stitch(es)
Do not join on rounds 1-8. Mark first st of each rnd with stitch marker and move up after you complete each rnd.
If using only one color, ignore color changes at beginning of rounds 10-16.
Instructions
Ch 3; join with sl st to form ring.
Round 1- Ch 1, 6 sc in ring.
Round 2- 2 sc in ea st around (12 sc)
Round 3- (2 sc in st, 1 sc in next st) around (18 sc)
Round 4- (2 sc in st, 1 sc in ea of next 2 sts) around (24 sc)
Round 5- (2 sc in st, 1 sc in ea of next 3 sts) around (30 sc)
Round 6- (2 sc in st, 1 sc in ea of next 4 sts) around (36 sc)
Round 7- Working in back lps only, sc in ea st around (36 sc)
Round 8- Working in both lps, sc in ea st around
Round 9- Rep rnd 8; join with sl st to first sc.
Round 10- Working in back lps only, ch 1, sc in same st, sk 2 sts, (5 dc in next st, sk 2 sts, sc in next st) around, ending with sl st in 1st sc instead of last sc, joining new color during sl st.
Round 11- Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 4 dc in same st, (sc in 3rd dc of next shell, 5 dc in next sc) around, ending with sc in 3rd dc of last shell; join with sl st to top of beg ch 3. Fasten off.
Round 12- Join new color with sl st in 3rd dc of any shell, ch 1, sc in same st, (5 dc in next sc, sc in 3rd dc of next shell) around, ending with sl st to beg sc instead of last sc.
Round 13- Rep rnd 11
Round 14- Rep rnd 12
Round 15- Rep rnd 11
Round 16- Attach original color in 3rd dc of any shell. Ch 1, sc in same st, (ch 2, sc in sc, ch 2, sc in 3rd dc of next shell) around, ending with sl st to beg sc.
Round 17- Ch 1, sc in same st, work 2 sc in ea ch-2 sp and 1 sc in ea sc around, join with sl st to beg sc.
Round 18- Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in ea st around.
Round 19- Rep rnd 18.
Round 20- Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 1, sk next st, (sc in next 2 sts, ch 1, sk next st) around; join with sl st to beg sc.
Round 21- Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in ea st and ch-1 sp around; join with sl st to beg sc.
Rounds 22-23- Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in ea st around, join with sl st to beg sc
Round 24- Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 2, (sc in next st, ch 2) around; join with sl st to beg sc. Fasten off, weave in ends.
Tie & Finishing
With original color, ch 75, leaving at least 3 inches at each end of ch. Fasten off. Weave through open spaces of rnd 20. String 1 or 2 pony beads on ea end of tie and knot at ends to keep in place.
