Awhile back (a year?), I tried to figure out what I was allergic to in food, and by paying a bit of attention, it looked like I was allergic to garlic and onions. Took those out of my diet, and then realized milk - milk, cheese, butter, yogurt, ice cream, and pretty much any dessert - was also causing a problem. So I cut that out, and took lactaid when I couldn’t avoid a social meal or something with some milk in it. Once I cut out milk, garlic/onions/etc were fine again. Weird.
That was around six months ago, and the symptoms have slowly been getting better. Kelly found something that norovirus - and other flu-like viruses - can apparently knock out your body’s ability to eat lactose for many months, and I’ve had norovirus from camping. So yesterday, for the first time in awhile, I tried some yogurt… and was fine. Just had some more half an hour ago, and only feel a small bit weird.
That’s awesome. I get to eat normal food again!
