001: [Voice]

Seeing as how this journal doesn't seem to be private at all, I'm just going to say... whoever stripped me of my clothes just to put me in this skimpy dress - you better watch out. Hell is calling out to you. You'll thank me because it's warmer than here, wherever here is.

[There's shuffling.]

...Why do I have wings? Did I die?

But... I... Who killed ( Read more... )

No, not dead. Not that I think, anyway. If you don't remember dying then I think you should be all right... Well, that's how I understand it anyhow.

But are you... What I mean to say is do you even have a- Ah. No. Never mind.

If you need directions to town I might be able to help. I've wandered around quite a bit now. Wandered, not lost. Really. Anyways. Where to start? You're in Luceti. I'd say welcome but I don't think many like hearing that.

I see... Thanks for clearing that up.

Spit it out. What were you going to say?

I probably do need directions to town. Possibly a nice explanation on how things work in ... Luceti. Do you know how many others are here?

And... these wings. If I'm not dead, then what are these wings for? How the hell did I get them?

Of course.

Oh. Uh. Nothing. It's nothing. Really. Though I suppose that would sound more suspicious. But really, nothing.

You know, I'm sure someone has done a proper head count here but, I'm not really sure. Over one hundred at least would be my guess. I can't tell you much more than that on the numbers though. And to be honest, I'm still unsure myself on how some things work but I'll be glad to help how I can. As for directions, I'll need to know where you are to begin with. Is there anything besides trees near you?

Fashion.... statement? We all have them. Supposedly it's because we're all being experimented on by some creepy people called Malnosso. That's why we're all here, actually. They take you from your home and leave you here it seems. Oh. But! Don't worry. I know that must sound... odd after that sort of explanation but uh. Luckily, I'm told that things don't change while we're gone from our home. That, should we return - when. When we return. It's like we were never gone even a moment. That's what they say anyway.

I don't believe there are anything but trees around me.

...I still want to go back. I don't like the idea of being experimented, and how do I know people from home aren't being experimented?

Well, how about water? Can you hear any?

I don't think anyone really likes the idea, and I'm not sure how you could even go about that. Trying to get home, I mean. I'm sure if someone knew we may not even be here right now. But as far as others go, you could try contacting them through these books. Everyone has one as well. They're pretty handy, actually. Magic or otherwise. I didn't like them much at first myself, but there's not really much helping it.

Yes. There seems to be water somewhere nearby. Ah, yeah. Found it. Should I follow it?

Have you tried?

Yes. I think if you follow it upstream, you should get to the town here.

Personally? No. I've wandered a bit and followed the barrier walls a little. Even tried breaking it. Not the most creative, I know. But you never know, it was worth a try.

Oh and, I'm Alistair. Pleased to meet you.

Ah, I see. I'm following it now. Can you give me some details on what to expect when I arrive?

Did you get sent back, bounced back, or something? Not even a dent on the barrier though?

Natsuki Kuga. Thanks. [This is said with some reluctance.]

Sure. Uh, well. It's rather small I suppose, or most would think so. There's some shops and things but it's mostly houses and such. Oh. Right. You'll probably be able to find your things in one of the shops there. Clothes, weapons, that sort of thing. Everything here is actually free. I'm not really sure how that works but it seems to do rather well here.

Bounced back, actually. I even tried some skills on it that is meant for this sort of thing, but it's rather difficult without a target. From my experience, usually you need to attack the source of the barrier to get rid of it.

Sure. But... [Maker, what is with all these awkward to pronounce names. Maybe it's best not to try....]

I see. I don't particularly need weapons, but I suppose I do need clothes. What about somewhere to crash for the night?

Malnosso, was it? Couldn't we aim for them? They're the ones experimenting, thus the barrier is probably made by them.

What's wrong?

I'm not actually quite sure how that works here. I just sort of picked a room. No one has really seemed to mind. There's a lot of empty rooms in most of the buildings, I believe. No one really seems to be in charge of that sort of thing. So I suppose you could just ... pick one.

We could. If we knew where they were or how to get to them or which one of them is causing it. But no, I don't believe anyone actually knows. It seems that they're on the other side of this barrier. Or, that's my guess anyway.

It's... Nadzooki? I apologize I'm not the best with these names. Most of these I've never heard before. And here I heard they were rare too. That'll teach me.

Um... what about food? I know everything is free, but what about food? Is it free too? Are there restaurants?

[There's growling.] I'll find my way out. To experiment on us, they have to come to this side of the barrier, don't they?

Ah... so that's the problem. Just call me Kuga, if you can't pronounce Natsuki.

Yes, actually. There's a few stores and restaurants and both are free as well. At the very least, you won't go hungry.

You know, I believe you're right. But I've never seen any around. Although. Maybe they are here. All the time. Watching. We just don't know it. Rather creepy, don't you think? I wonder what sort of people agree to do that sort of job?

Right. Kooga it is then. Sorry about that. I had the same problem a little while ago as well while speaking to someone else. What was his name? Well, no. Actually. What I should wonder is how to say it. I remember it quite well just... Yep. I've got nothing. I wouldn't really want to insult him or anything.

Ah... good. [Have to learn how to cook some day.]

The traitors. The ones who don't mind sucking up to the damn bastards. We should interrogate everyone in the barrier. Force them to speak.

Kuga. Not Kooga. It's fine. I don't think he would have anything against you just because you can't pronounce his name.

[Pause. Whoa. That was unexpected.] I'm... not so sure that's really good idea.

But that's true, he probably wouldn't.

What if the traitor is amidst us though?
