Hey there everybody out in LJ land. This is just a little heads up to let y’all know that on February the 16th, at approximately 3:30 PM, I will be embarking upon a roughly 10 day long solo road trip. The tentative itinerary is as follows:
16th to the 17th: Charleston to Rock Hill, SC
17th to the 18th: Rock Hill to Asheville NC for lunch, then on to the general vicinity of Memphis, TN
18th to the 20th: TN to Belle Vista, AR
20th to the 23rd: Bella Vista to Addison, TX
23rd to the 24th: Addison to Houston, TX
24th to the 25th: Houston to New Orleans, LA
25th to the 26th: New Orleans to Jacksonville, FL
26th to the 27th: Jacksonville to Charleston
This is, of course, subject to change, owing to delays, crappy visits, my own level of rest, my general mood, the color of the sky, whether or not pigs have wings, the size of my goiter, the number of
“Deliverance” moments, the price of tea in china and gas in the southern states, the phases of the moon, and how much money the Count Of Monte Cristo has to exact his revenge upon those who have wronged him. *No, I don't know where I was going with that myself*
There is, however, something that I would like everyone to think about…even though I’m making this trip alone, I want to “bring” as many people with me as possible. So, with that in mind, if those of you reading this have a chance, make me a CD of music that you would say best describes you in musical format, AND, based on that trip, when you would want me to listen to it. If I don’t know you in person, or if you live really far away, then I would settle for a playlist of music up to 80 minutes in length that I could then compile on my own. Of course, it works best as a CD….that way, I’ll have no idea what I’m going to be listening to until I pop it in the player and spool it up. I think those musical experiences are the best. So, something to mull over.
Also, it is my intention to make this a full multimedia experience - blog entries, photos, crappy videos, voice updates, and so forth, in order to have a really detailed record of this journey. Not that I anticipate a huge amount of interest for it, but I like to know where I’ve been and why, in the course of this life.
And hey! Who knows? Maybe something exciting will happen on this trip.
Anyway, that’s the plan.
Oh, one last thing: please help me come up with a better name for this journey than the two I put up there….I think they are both pretty lame, but all I could think of. Any suggestions?
