[Action Post] In which lillebror is saved

Why he thought he'd be the only one having to deal with an illogical morning, he had no idea. But after the incident with the--thing--in his closet, he hadn't thought about the fact he hadn't seen his brother that day.

A fact Sindre was still kicking himself for.

He spared not a thought for what he was about to do. No spell to guide, no strictures to bind, he slapped the doorway to Valdi's room with power and rage and fear, demanding that no water spill from the room as he flung open the door. A whirl of raw power wrapped air around him as he ran through the boundary into a suddenly much-enlarged room.

The moments the air took bearing him up were torture, but Sindre had to rely on its natural buoyancy to reach the top, save whatever strength he could. No matter how much he wanted to speed the process.

Fortunately, Valdi still had air by the time Sindre finally surfaced, albeit not much. Not bothering to waste his breath explaining, he grabbed his brother's wrists and dragged him off the whale, holding him tight.

Taking a deep breath, Sindre submerged them both, keeping the air bubble with them. Throwing his hand up toward the surface, Sindre felt an accompanying stab of pain in his head as he pushed away from it, propelling them downward.

Tumbling through the door, Sindre struggled to shut it before his power-constructs fell apart. A distant part of his mind noted with relief that whatever seal that had kept the water in before Sindre opened the door reasserted itself upon its closure, but he had no chance to contemplate that further before he collapsed in the hall.

Sindre just sat there, staring at the door to Valdi's room as he tried to work up the strength to lift his arm and staunch the blood pouring from his nose. A laugh burst out of him, then another, and soon he was nearly crying with laughter stemming from adrenaline and relief and a dark bit of humor. Catching Valdi's odd look, Sindre forced himself back under control, unable to explain what had set him off with the occasional giggle still slipping out.

"Tangling with the mafia, almost drowning in a marine version of the TARDIS--damn, Lillebror, you don't do getting in trouble by halves, do you?"
