"working at the Sanctuary is more than just a job to me"

Happy Sanctuary day, guys! Please join me and others on Twitter tonight in trying to make this epic show trend. :)

I have to run off to work for a few hours, but in the mean time, I'd love it if you guys check out this song I'm currently working on. Sanctuary-themed and on the piano! I'm pretty proud of the piano part, but just a warning that this recording is a rough cut, so the audio cuts out a little and it's obviously not anywhere near perfect. But I'd love to hear what you think!

This is the first two verses and the first chorus. :)

"The Darkness"

I was once afraid of the dark
but you taught me how to face my fears
you found me when no one else would
every time I'd try to disappear

I hid from all my monsters at night
but you came and chased them away
held out your hand and I
followed you out of this place

how did you know that
I was the one to
look beyond what they couldn't see
why did you choose me
to stand beside you
how did you know I would believe

I was running in circles
living a life that had me tied to the ground
for some reason you saw my purpose
saved me, unchained me, and turned me around

how did you know that
I wouldn't run away
from the darkness reigning in on me
how did you know that
I couldn't look away
even if I wanted to leave

do you know that you saved me
know that you opened my eyes
when they were clamped shut before
you gave me a part of
your beautiful world
and I'd never turn back anymore

how did you know that
I was the one to
look beyond what they couldn't see
why did you choose me
to stand beside you
how did you know I would believe

I was once afraid of the dark
but you taught me how to face my fears
