Anyone else a little bit baffled about the Constellation Awards results?

Dr. Who and Wall-E took home the most? WHAT?!

The only one that I'm really, really in support of is Michael Hogan winning best male performance. He truly deserves that.

But...what?!

will tag later

I KNOW, RIGHT? This has nothing to do with me being bitter that Sanctuary won nothing (well, maybe I'm a little bitter, ROFL), but...

WHAT?

Wall-E beat Iron Man and the Dark Knight as far as SciFi films go. Katherine Tate takes home lead female. Dr. Who beats BSG as best SciFi series.

This is Justine's confused face.

The one that really surprises me is Claudia Black beating out Amanda for best role in a tv movie... Doctor Who had an amazing season, one of those where everything just came together, and strictly as far as material given to work with, Catherine Tate had it a bit better than Amanda did. Sanctuary was very much in its "getting off the ground" phase.

Now, next year, I hope season two gives her some dark and amazing stuff so she/Sanctuary can properly sweep these awards like we know they're capable of.

Maybe I'm too clouded because I'm not a Dr. Who fan, but Dr. Who beating BSG REALLY baffles me.

And yes, Claudia beating Amanda in Continuum? Claudia's role length-wise put together about a fourth of the movie. Amanda was in 95% of the movie. I don't think any of the actors of the Continuum cast had anything necessarily challening to do that would warrant them awards, but hell if Claudia was going to win it, then why didn't Amanda?!

I really was hoping Amanda would win the best contribution award. She deserved that so much, but alas, I'm happy that Stargate got it.

I didn't expect Sanctuary to win anything because of that reason. It would have been nice, sure. :/

I'm not up to the last season of BSG yet, but if it's honestly good enough to rank with series four of Doctor Who? Then I really can't wait. Because those 13 eps of Doctor Who are the most impressive consecutive run of a tv show I can think of to date. Not a single episode disappointed, fell short, left me with a bad taste. I think it deserved that win.

Plus, Catherine Tate and Amanda Tapping are my two favorite current actresses, so I can't say I'm disappointed with the turnout there... though I'd have been equally happy if it had been Amanda, Catherine blew everyone away. Mostly because no one expected a highly noted comedy star to have those sort of dramatic chops. It would be a bit like Amanda starring in a sitcom and blowing it out of the water. (Which I know she would, and oh my god, I so want to see her do comedy one day.)

And yes, you just summed up perfectly my confusion over why Claudia would win over Amanda.

IA with Dr. Who having a great season. I hadn't liked Tennant until this season (I was still stuck on Eccleston) but it was a reallyreallyreally great season.

Well, I don't know about Wall-E, but Doctor Who is a great show and Catherine Tate was brilliant in that episode. I must say that she was better than Amanda (when you compare those two episodes).

I'm rather baffled by Claudia Black, because imo her role in Continuum wasn't that big and I wouldn't call it the best.
