shadowserenity asked this question on her f-list, so I'm doing the same because I find it very interesting.

If you had the power to create a new science fiction TV show (on whichever channel you want - SciFi, Fox, etc), what would your show be about? Write a brief synopsis!

My untitled ideas (and I have a ton, but not all are worth sharing probably - lol):

01
Meera, only weeks away from turning twenty, resides in Metropolis, the largest, most highly populated city on the planet, home to government, science, economy, and all the fast-growing, ingenuous ideas of the future. Despite the normalcy of the life she leads, a terrible accident she was involved in ten years ago that killed both of her parents has haunted her since childhood, but her demons don't stop there.

Meera is plagued by visions of a world where things don't quite make sense, where simple words and phrases have total different meanings, where there is laughter and joy and memories that can't possibly be her own, of a world she is convinced she used to live.

Memories of a place called Earth.

What's more startling is the discovery that Meera makes deep within the archives of Scholastica where it seems things were meant to remain hidden:

Earth is nothing more than a legend.

She fantasizes vivedly of this place day and night. Her journals are filled with images and stories, with words foreign to her ears but familiar to her tongue. It seems that as she grows closer to beginning the second decade of her life, these visions of a place called Earth only continue to escalate. Parents that don't match the faces of people in the few pictures she has left after the accident. A school she never went to and yet remembers so clearly. Friends she could not know, and places she could never have been. What are these visions exactly, and how is it possible she's seeing them?

As she tries to uncover the truth behind the legends surrounding Earth in hopes of putting her visions to rest once and for all, paranoia encompasses her when individuals intervene, seemingly bent on keeping her from her mission. She's told that her delusions and paranoia are all side effects from the accident ten years ago, and that there's treatments to help her forget.

Meera doesn't want to forget, and despite not being sure who to trust, she'll stop at nothing to uncover the truth about a place called Earth.

This storyline is completely undeveloped, except for the idea that there's a single trail that leads from a house or a mansion of some sort and stops, just several feet away from the entrance of a thick forest. Some curious individual, bothered by the fact that the trail simply stops, steps into the woods during the nighttime and finds themselves in daylight on the other side in a completely different world of some sort. I picture many different creatures that they encounter, good and bad, but what's worse is, this person finds themselves right in the middle of a battle between these creatures on the other side. As opposed to the very sterile science fiction of the last idea, this one is very fantasy-based.

The woods is full of magic, too. And in this world, instead of shooting an arrow or a firearm, you speak your attack and likewise your defense. So your words generate fire, or an arrow from nothing, or a shield. And the only way to protect and defend yourself is to know this language.

I believe this individual would be given some sort of quest to go on, but I really don't know what that would be. Probably something that would help to end the war, and the ancient language (which is ours) is key on the journey, which is why none of the native creatures can succeed.

What's funny is both of these ideas were sparked from insanely vivid dreams. I love the idea of science fiction and fantasy being tangible in some way. So instead of an outer space story, either a story central on a planet or a world within our own. Those kinds of things are so intriguing to me. I of course love outer space tales as well, which is evidenced by my choices of shows and movies, but I think if I were to be able to create a series or a movie, I'd like to use one of the above ideas.

Now please, I'd love to hear about yours if you have any! It's so hard to summarize, I know. But try! Super fun.
