I'm sad that it's the last day of vacation. I had a fun week! Chung Matt Kevin and I went to TGA and played lots of bemani games. Drummania was fun! IIDX was great but I didn't get the timing down. Chung hogged the machine. Also there were some odorific people and some guy we called Mr. Sage because Kevin and Matt said he smoked sage.
The rest of the week I played World of Warcraft. I went from around level 10 to level 21! Hooray! Tomorrow/today the last day of vacation we will travel to the Stonetalon Mountains. :) OMG it's sooooo fun *^_^* @_@; LOL!
I also read much of this book, The Painting. It has been enjoyable. And it's taken me way too long to get through it 'cause I am a slow reader. I read none of Harry Potter. :( Oh well, at least I enriched myself learning about the warcraft world. Oh yeah and tonight I got a gh3y parking violation fine for $10. How stupid? Dude. 'Twas for "All-Night Parking" even though I was only parked till 2:00 in front of Matt's house. Oh yeah we, with Josh because he came back from Utah, watched "Ong Bak" a great Thai movie with quality low-budget action :D
Also I went to Buddhist temple with Brian and a monk came and talked to us and I got confused about "selflessness" 'cause they said the self does not exist. Brian had to explain to me they meant that there is no inherent self but that "self" is a collection of memories and is created by conditions surrounding us. So, it does exist, but I think the lesson was just a way to help boost confidence, because they said if you realize the self does not exist then you can easily avoid anger or greediness and be selfless in the regular sense of the word, i.e., helping others. Because for example if they make fun of you, but all you are is a collection of conditions, then they're basically making fun of...the world or something abstract, or something that doesn't really exist. So yeah if you think that way it's easier to deal with bad people. While he was talking about "selflessness" I kept thinking "wow this is the exact opposite of existentialism isn't it" cause we keep talking about existentialism in Dominant Ideas. So the bottom line is you have free will and a body which is a tool you can use to help people, and memories and feelings, but you shouldn't get attached to this self. I guess when you die the conditions are no longer satisfied to have that person exist so your memories and stuff pass into a new incarnate. Oh well I guess I should read more about Buddhism . . . I guess I don't have a full understanding of what they're saying. Maybe I should become a philosophy major so I can hear lots of this stuff and write lots of bad essays about philosophy. Just kidding then I can't use goggles LOL (WoW joke!!!!!!) LOL! LOL GET IT engineering lol
Also Brian and I chatted a little about prom 'cause Brian always likes to plan ahead. But I feel like it is really far away. Haha BHsieh. But now that I think about it......goddamnit prom is expensive. Maybe I should save up somehow uhh I don't have a job uhh oh well.
Maybe I should write in my LJ more 'cause I don't really remember what happened a few days ago. I have a low-qual memory storage access. But I learned (from the monk!) that deep breathing is good for you. Well, not learned, but was reminded. I shall try to breathe more deeply from now on. You should too. :)
O.K. time for beddy-bye
