...I ship Sam/Gene really hard. Sam can use Annie as his therapist all he likes, but as his therapist the poor girl is going to conclude that he's a bit nuts. Gene just doesn't fucking put up with Sam's crazy bullshit and that does way, way more to keep Sam grounded than a thousand talks with Annie.
