Her AU:
Because of lack of IM:AA pups her default is a mix of her canon and movie canon. She has no problem playing 'babysitter' for Avengers if asked. (Because hello! She gets to work with SHIELD, one step closer to her jetpack right?)
Background:

Her father works for the FBI and she's pretty much a walking encyclopedia of baddies with abilities.
When she, Tony and Gene get taken hostage to use against the Mandarin, Pepper's mouthing off almost makes things worse for them, though it does help to buy time for Rhodey to get the armor to Tony so he could fight the two baddies (Even though Pepper latches onto Gene for being the one to help escort her out of the warehouse).
When her father's attacked by a spb, she tries to talk to Tony about her concerns with the job her father does, but Tony brushes her off. When she's taken from class to the hospital to see him she brushes Tony off deciding to try to investigate what happened on her own. This makes her a target for the man her father had been trying to get. The guys are able to keep her safe even though to do it Tony lets her in on the fact he's Iron Man, risking everything since she's so talkative.
Pepper's skill with research later helps Tony and Rhodey catch Crimson Dynamo by finding out he has family. While the guys are trying to figure out exactly what to do she rushes to get Vanko's wife and child, bringing them to him ending the situation peacefully.
When she's stuck with Tony for a Drama class project, she makes the connection that the play is closer to Tony's life than it really should be. Though she cuts off before she says it out loud.
When Tony has to leave his stealth armor in Stark Tower, she's the one that comes up with the idea on how to get into the building to retrieve it. The plan is overly simple, and despite not really going according to her plan it still works.
Pepper in a fit of jealousy ends up getting detention for herself, Rhodey, Tony, Gene, Happy and Whitney. She's ordered to work with Gene on the project and decides that she's going to have to try to be friends with him if she's going to keep Tony as a friend. Though instead of working on the project she asks him if they can hang out. When Gene bails on her she follows him and gets into trouble with the Maggai and the Tong. Gene calls attention to the situation as Mandarin hoping Tony will come to rescue her, instead he ends up doing it because he doesn't want her hurt.
When Tony takes her and Rhodey to one of the Mandarin temples to try to find one of the rings, she triggers the test which if it wasn't passed would have world wide destruction, oops. Tony finds he's unwilling to fight her when she becomes a creature made of magma because it's Pepper.
When they meet the Hulk, Pepper's the one that convinces Hulk that she's a friend and not someone that he should smash. He actually smiles and calls her funny.
Later there's a lecture by Reed Richards that Tony wants to go to, but he forgot to get the permission slip in on time. Pepper, even though she had wanted to go, had put his name on her ticket, giving it to him showing she's willing to sacrifice for him.
When she and Tony go shoe shopping he makes a comment about her becoming Whitney Stane and she comments back about not talking about her when they're on a 'date', He's the one that sputters about it not really being a date. She's also the one that suggests that Tony find Clint to help take out his 'grandson'.
Possessions:
Keeps handcuffs in her purse, along with bobby pins.
Personality:
Pepper's hyperactive and really talkative (To the extent that at one point while being held captive one of the kidnappers wanted to kill her just to shut her up). She's also been kicked out of the Helicarrier because she asked too many questions (Wonder who gave the order though, Fury or Hill?) On top of it all she can be quite melodramatic when she wants to be, (going on a rant about having to make a volcano for the science fair and being laughed out of school). Though with all her joking aside she does care about her friends even if they hurt her emotionally.
She wants to be a SHIELD agent, she says it's so she can spy and shoot bad guys. Though with her record it'll never happen. Apparently she's done something that's gotten her into trouble with the law once before but hey she's a minor so it isn't on her permanent record. Though you have to wonder a little about her, who carries handcuffs with them? Really.

Up to current episode, Pepper hangs out with Rhodey and Tony, and sometimes gets to do odd jobs for SHIELD. She’s still upset she doesn’t get a jetpack and get to be all action, but hey she’s not out of the loop so she’s not going to complain too much.
