Chapter 4
The day shined bright, the sunlight filtered through the window panes. The birds were chirping loud outside Jin’s room and Kame woke up with a sigh. He yawned and stretched his arms and stood up. He looked over to the bed where Jin is sleeping. Jin was sleeping on his side, like he always used to, with an angelic expression on his face, like as if he was in a faraway world where the whole world is in peace. Kame looked at Jin and smiled. He knew he had to wake him up but he could not bear to ruin the beautiful scene right in front of him.
Reluctantly, he shook Jin and called his name. Jin woke up sleepily, rubbing his eyes and staring ahead at the blurred figure in front of him. Before he was woken up, he was having a wonderful dream about Asaka. Without realizing that Kame was the blurred figure in front of him, he called out her name.
Kame looked at Jin, watching opening his mouth, wanting to say something. He thought Jin would stand up and greet him good morning … but Jin looked at him and called Asaka’s name.
Why is he calling me Asaka? Kame thought.
Jin thought that Kame was really Asaka and hugged Kame.
“Asaka, don’t goooo!” Jin mumbled.
Kame was shocked. He did not expect Jin would hug him. He released Jin’s arms and decided to go and get ready before Jin. But Jin caught Kame’s right hand and murmured something that Kame couldn’t understand. Kame looked at the clock, it was getting late, and he did not want the director to scold them. He shook Jin real hard.
“JIN! JINNNNN! Wake up!! We are late!” Kame shouted.
“Whaaaa..?”Jin woke up and glanced at the clock.
Oh no! We are going to be late!! Jin thought.
They quickly got ready without bathing. Jin forgot all about his dream and rushed to the studio with Kame. Luckily, Lady Luck was on their side and they were on time. The minute they went in the studio, the filming started. Jin looked around excitedly for Asaka, but she was nowhere to be seen.
After filming, Kame walked over to Jin and pulled Jin over to a place where they could talk privately. Kame seemed to be holding back his laughter and Jin wondered why.
“Why did you pull me here for?” Jin asked.
“HAHAHAHAHAHAH!” Kame starts laughing.
“What? Did I do anything wrong?” Jin asked, wondering Kame was laughing at.
Kame was trying to signal to Jin to wait for a little while and Kame tried to stop laughing. Then, when he was ready, he told Jin what Jin told him and what happened.
Jin remembered the dream and blushed. But when he heard what Kame got to say, he blushed even more and his face was growing redder than ever. Kame noticed it and tried not to laugh again. Jin was feeling very uncomfortable as he was not used to Kame teasing him. He was usually the one who teased Kame, not the other way around!
After awhile, Jin got over his embarrassment and went back to where the rest of the KAT-TUN members were, signaling Kame to keep quiet over it, but Kame didn’t see the signal and went over to the KAT-TUN members.
“Hey guys! Did you know today, Jin…” Kame started to tell them about the incident.
Jin went to Kame and whispered, afraid to let the other members of KAT-TUN know about his crush over Asaka. He whispered to Kame to stop telling. Kame nodded and made a sign to show that it was a promise.
“Kame! What were you going to tell us just now? Tell us!” Junno asked.
“Nothing!” Kame grins and acts as if he does not know what Junno was asking about.
“Come on! Tell us what you were going to say about... Jin!” Koki taunted Kame.
“It’s really nothing!!!” Kame told them.
They kept asking Kame what is it but Kame could not, much to Jin’s relief. Kame winked at Jin, causing Jin to know that the secret is safe with Kame. He sighed in relief and began to relax.
Jin grinned and went home, alone as Kame only wanted to stay for a night only. He walked home by himself; he found it boring that no one was there to talk to him. He wanted company, but since there was no one there, he began thinking about his favourite subject, no other than… Asaka. He thought and thought about her until he went home.
Kame went back reluctantly. He really wanted to stay at Jin’s house again, but it was rude to keep on staying there. He thought about his emotions about Asaka.
Why, why is it whenever I talk about Asaka or think about her, my heart goes THUMP. THUMP. THUMP?” Kame asked himself.
He knew when Jin called Asaka to him, what he felt was mixed feelings. He like Asaka, but he did not want Jin to like Asaka too.
Afterall, Love is selfish. Kame thought.
He did not want to worry over that incident, so he thought of Asaka’s eyes, the hazel brown eyes that caused him to forget everything.
Two best friends, each of them likes a girl. What could possibly happen?
The next day, they had to go to the studio again. Everyone gathered there as usual. Asaka was there. She greeted Jin and Kame when they walked in together.
“O...ohayo!” Jin and Kame stammered and tried not to blush.
They both did better than usual. The rest of the KAT-TUN members wondered why and decided to ask them later.
“Hey! Why you guys seemed happier than usual?” Nakamaru asked.
“We are just in a good mood today, that’s why!” Kame tried to cover up.
Jin gave Kame a smile and thanked him silently for covering up for him.
After the session, Koki suddenly asked Asaka to join them for dinner.
“Since you have just come into JE, let’s have a welcome party for you!” Koki said.
They all agreed. Jin and Kame were very happy and they tried to get close to Asaka. Kame tried not to show that he liked Asaka but Jin was a little more obvious… But not that obvious until the KAT-TUN members were suspicious. Kame saw that Jin was really having a good time with Asaka, but he could see that Jin was resisting from being too close with her as he was afraid of the rest of the KAT-TUN members knew. He got jealous and tried to get even closer to Asaka.
Jin noticed it and wondered why Kame was being so close with Asaka.
Why is Kame like this? He is usually very shy with girls he doesn’t know. Jin thought.
