Chapter Nine
“Hey! What are you doing here by yourself?” somebody standing in front of Kame asked.
“Huh?” Kame looked up and saw Asaka looking down at him.
Kame had been too engrossed in talking to himself; he did not notice Asaka in front of him.
“What were you thinking about, Kame-kun? Why the sad look?” Asaka asked Kame in a cheery voice.
Looking at Asaka’s hazel eyes with bits of green flecks inside, Kame felt himself blush as Asaka was looking at him with huge, cute eyes.
“Kame? Kame-kun! Why are you in a daze?” Asaka called out to Kame.
Kame seemed to be in his own world… Asaka snapped her fingers in front of Kame.
Kame snapped out of his lovely fantasy and looked at Asaka.
“Huh? What did you say?” Kame asked Asaka.
“Haha! Kame-kun! What were you thinking about that made you so engrossed in thinking? I was asking you what were you thinking about and why did you have a sad, puppy face look in your eyes! And you looked like you were pouting too!” Asaka giggled.
“Did I? Haha. I must have looked quite a sight! Well, I was thinking about nothing in particular! I was drifting from one topic to another. It’s a fine day to be dreaming about good stuffs. “Kame lied quickly.
He did not want Asaka to know that he had been dreaming about her.
If I tell her that, that would be awkward. Kame thought.
“Kame, I don’t care if you don’t tell me what you were thinking, but I have to admit this is a lovely day to be inside. Let’s go and explore the garden!” Asaka suggested.
Kame agreed and they took a stroll around the garden. Asaka squealed at the beautiful butterflies that had mysterious patterns of them. While Asaka was looking at the butterflies, Kame reached down and picked up some flowers with exotic colors and gave them to Asaka.
“Thanks for the flowers! They are so sweet!” Asaka exclaimed and smelled the flowers. “They smell so good!”
Kame smiled and his eyes twinkled in the bright sunlight. He had never felt so carefree, so free before in his life. He felt that he should cherish the time spent with her. Before it’s too late.
Asaka laughed and Kame thought that her laugh sounded like music to his ears. They continued walking in the garden, chatting and having so much fun together. The birds chirped happily, the air seemed to be cool and the sun even looked like it was smiling upon them. Everything felt so perfect.
He didn’t want it to end. But all the good, as well as bad things, in the world will end, sooner or later. Soon they returned to the place where they started and decided to go back to see Jin one more time before they left.
“I had a good time with you, Kame!” Asaka smiled cheerfully that showed all her perfect teeth.
“Me too… “ Kame replied.
The only thing that makes my heart shatter is when it had to end… Kame thought.
They walked back to Jin’s room. The KAT-TUN members were about to leave. Kame and Asaka walked to where Jin was laying and wished that he could get well soon.
“Today, we can only visit you for a short while but we will definitely stay longer the next time! Right, Kame?” Asaka said cheerily.
“Yes, we will. “ Kame replied.
All of them turned to leave. Jin watched them turn their backs, one by one and left. He looked at them leaving until he could not see them anymore and sighed. He lay his head down on his pillow and stared at the ceiling.
Kame. Should I forgive you? We used to be so close ne? But now, it seemed like all the time we spent together was just disappearing in a wink… Is it worth it? Jin wondered.
What should I do? One side of my mind says I should not forgive him. One side of my mind says I should. Who do I listen?? It is so confusing! I don’t know what to do! Jin fought with himself.
Then it hit him. His heart. He should listen to his heart. He closed his eyes and searched within his heart. He felt the hurt and felt the loneliness. He felt regretful and remorsefulness. He knew immediately what he should do. The determination was in him. And he is not going to give up.
Feeling relieved and peaceful, all his worries floated away from him. Jin lay down even further into the warm sheets and began to close his eyes as sleep enveloped him.
The next day, Jin felt a little afraid of the outcome of what he was going to do but he still grabbed his phone and called Kame.
-Rings-
Kame had a wonderful sleep last night, dreaming about Asaka and his dreamland, where everything was perfect. But in the middle of his dream, a noise woke him up. He got up sleepily and rubbed his eyes.
Why must all the good things in the world end? Kame thought angrily.
Kame reached over to his bedside table and put his fingers around the vibrating phone. He looked at the screen with his eyes half open and looked at it. [Akanishi Jin] it said. Kame immediately opened his eyes wide.
Should I answer or should I not? Kame pondered.
But he knew that no matter what, he still have to face Jin. So he picked it up.
“Hello?”
“Kazu-chan? It’s me, Jin.”
“Uh-huh.”
“I have something to talk to you. Can you come over to my ward after work?”
“Ano, okay. See you later. “
“Bye, hope to see you later.”
Kame took a deep breath and got ready for work.
