http://www.biggovernment.com/2009/09/10/introducing-james-o%E2%80%99keefe/ All politics aside this is funny. Very funny! Just listen to it, laugh, then you can point out how it's entrapment and whatever else.
Enjoy.
Edit: This clearly shows ACORN is a corrupt organization that should not be allowed any government money.

I'm so over the smear campaign against this organization. It's a huge nationwide organization; I have no doubt in a group that size that one can find individual instances of behavior one doesn't agree with, some that one might even find out and out wrong. Overall though, what this group does--things like helping people buy homes and stay out of foreclosure, make sure they are safe to live, fight for living wages, paid sick time, and better public education in low income areas--this does not piss me off to the same degree as say, an entire financial industry based on given out loans to people who can't afford them, bundling and reselling them at a profit, and crashing the entire American and global financial markets.
really--perspective.
Obama didn't work for ACORN. The Republican party decided to start a smear campaign against them during the last election based on the actions of some folks hired by ACORN to assist with voter registration. The fellas collecting registrations were paid by the number of registrations collected, so some wrote in false registrations (for Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck and the like)--the Republicans screamed voter fraud. But, mostly, ya know, this is a group that is politically organizing and activating primarily within low income and communities of color. Much of the Republican animosity towards ACORN bears more than just a whiff of racism, pretty openly.

You're right. I looked it up. He didn't work for them. They worked for him.
"we have invited Obama to our leadership training sessions to run the session on power every year, and, as a result, many of our newly developing leaders got to know him before he ever ran for office. Thus it was natural for many of us to be active volunteers in his first campaign for STate Senate and then his failed bid for U.S. Congress in 1996. By the time he ran for U.S. Senate, we were old friends."

So if he trained and instructed them.... nah that'd be over reaching.

This is not an either/or situation, where "(p)ainting a house beats willing to help smuggle underage children for a prostitution ring." Clearly underage prostitution is not one of the organization's purposes; if individuals associated with the organization where in any way involved with such activities, it would be criminal behavior and should be treated as such. It would not negate all the good work they do, but certainly would tarnish their reputation.
But I've yet to see any of the claims made against ACORN turn out to be more than smear campaigns.

"It was a "Jump to Conclusions" mat. You see, it would be this mat that you would put on the floor... and would have different CONCLUSIONS written on it that you could JUMP TO."
