Ain't those Satanists the best trolls I've ever seen! LOL.

O hai, folks. Meet Satan. So apparently, a statue of Baphomet celebrating "the Evil One" (as per Christianity), was unveiled in Detroit (very fitting location) the other day. And predictably, that got quite a lot of knickers in a twist. I bet the underwear sales must have shot through the roof. Source: let's say BBC.

It's all so ridiculous. A Christian witch-doctor in a pointy hat who claims to represent a 'Holy Ghost' outraged by some gay libertarians snogging in front of a non-existent flying goat monster (one whose name only exists because 500 years ago some equally confused knights couldn't pronounce Muhammed). A perfect loop of stupidity.

That said, the best part of it all is how the "religious" folks don't even begin to understand the message*, the irony, or how it's simply a mirror of how they foist their Jeebus on the rest. War on Christmas, etc nonsense. You know the drill.

I suspect Christians only have a limited amount of hate to spread around, though. This statue is like throwing raw meat to a cage of tigers. But there's a flaw. I noticed the eyes don't light up... what a pity.

By the way, some of my best friends are Satanists! I'm sure they're very nice people, too! So don't shoot me without anathemas! (You know who you are).

* The message? If we forget the outright in-your-face trolling along the lines of freedom-of-expression and all that jazz, maybe if the media did a story about what Satanists actually follow and believe in, maybe people would get a bit more educated about it all. If we forget about the silly Halloween-style paraphernalia, you might be surprised to find that Satanists may actually have better morals than many so called Christians. But that's a long story.

religion, freedom of speech, scandal
