Point taken. After all, Erdogan recently ordered the moviemakers who are filming The Magnificent Century to stop "smearing Suleiman the Magnificent" by portraying him as a decadent hedonist. Seems like Erdogan didn't like how his idol was being shown to be human, so he told them to be careful.

That was to be expected in a country of such a deep shade of yellow. =)

They are trying to craft a neo-Ottoman image of their society for the world to see (but mostly for domestic consumption), and movies or books that venture into deviations from that project cannot expect a lot of tolerance from the powers that be.

Well... apparently it's more democratic then many of the nations surrounding it, it's still not a very nice place to be in on account of being in a war. I'm surprised at Australia, considering it is supposed to have some strict censorship laws

Well, they recently had a counter-coup to restore democracy, which let them catch up with the likes of Argentina and Columbia and surpass Venezuela... Or else there are some serious problems with how such countries were rated.
