Hagel would not drink the Iraq kool aid and, like Cynthia McKinney, called the situation for what it was, a major fuckup.

One of the freshman female committee senators who was from Hagle's state asked him "is it true he was left of Obama?" because he endorsed her democratic challenger in the election.
This is all pure political payback, of the worse kind.

Oh I'm sure the honest answer to that is "yup". Obama is a Center-Right corporatist.

Hagel is a "classic liberal": right of most liberals but left of center.
