Socialism/Socialist programs aren't absolutely good or absolutely bad, it all depends on

2) The presence of smart politicians making well-thought decisions, due to the simple fact that they're having the public's real interest as their top priority

which is easier said than done. If Canada has that, good for them. We don't. I want all sick people to have access to medical care, I just don't trust the government to provide that service efficiently.
