I used to watch reruns of his program when I was a kid (I only know the Swedish name of the show, but it was about cosmos and science and shit..)

and he was always a slick dresser, sort of transgressing time. I totally had a puppy crush on him as a kid. I still have a thing for academics dressed in certain ways.

Yeah, I agree. He was sharp dresser for an academic and researcher. Especially when he appeared on Johnny Carson (which was frequently, since Carson loved Sagan)

you know he was a stoner, right? Well documented, he and his wife Ann Druyan would get stoned on top shelf weed, and spend time in the shower together while he wrote formulas in the steam and soap film on the shower walls.

He has always been a stereotype buster... and a personal hero.

hehe, I didn't know that! I guess my childhood crush merely lead to me reading some of his books in my teens, I never researched the man on the web, which now seems like an overlook.
